I just returned from the first annual IEEE Conference on Control Theory and Applications on the Big Island of Hawaii where I presented Norm and Linear-Inequality-Constrained State Estimation: An LMI Approach, which was primarily the hard work of Stephen Chee. It was an excellent conference where I got to meet researchers from Georgia Tech., George Washington University, and UT Dallas, and recconect with colleagues from MERL, University of Notre Dame, and Concordia University. There were great talks, and a highlight was Dissipativity-Based Design of Local and Wide-Area DER Controls for Large-Scale Power Systems with High Penetration of Renewables (I), presented by Roland Harvey from University of Central Florida. I'm not sure what could be better than an interesting conference at an amazing location!
